IT'S ISLAND TIME! SMILE

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. (waiting for attack)
The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either.. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.
1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you. 2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. 3. I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy. 4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away. 5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46. 6. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my shotgun.' 7. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!! But wait, there's more! I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!' To which I said, of course it is loaded, can't work without bullets!' She then asked, 'Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?' My reply was, 'No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.' To which I'll add, having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.
***** City Councilman Mike Hummell is in the box early, I'll get him to comment on the $500k we have been paying to test the water releases for the past 10 years I think, and maybe he can explain how 2 guys who have been arrested 42 times could be out on the street so they can go for 43. What is wrong with that picture.... Andy Benning owner of the Sharp Shooter will be in the box at 8 and we'll talk about what's making folks buy so many guns and how much ammo went off his shelves during ammo week. I heard yesterday from Chuck at Chex-Mex that Academy was selling 100,000 rounds a day.
What did I tell you? "2nd Recording said to vindicate Chief Bryan Smith". Problem is they want him gone. Question is who is they? Obama's cell account invaded. It was an old one. But, that's the problem with being famous, no privacy.
After the auto industry bailout was all but declared officially dead, some Democratic lawmakers are quietly trying to revive the plan. The Bush Plan. There are a lot of folks who have no sympathy at all for Detroit’s woes right now. They work at - or benefit from - the auto industry. Just not the Detroit version.
Another Father of The Year Candidate. "Baby Cockfighting"?
16 days now and all the promises of a shiny new progressive world haven't yet materialized. It's one thing to pander to the far left, but when it comes time to actually be president, Barack Obama at least realizes stocking his cabinet with nutroots darlings isn't the way to go. File this one under Hope, Change and whining.

From the Caller: Corpus Christi police were able to catch two career criminals after witnesses observed the men trying the break into an SUV in the Moore Plaza parking lot Wednesday.Witness told police that the two men left in a 2002 silver Ford Mustang, which had been described in previous auto burglaries. Officers were able to find the car on the 6700 block of Staples Street later Wednesday and arrested the driver and passenger. Margarito Rodriguez, 28, who has been convicted 22 times for various offenses including auto theft and burglary of a vehicle, and Jose Martinez, 24, who has been convicted 20 times including numerous burglary of a vehicle charges, were arrested and taken to Nueces County jail. Martinez had bonded out of jail Thursday morning.
42 TIMES! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! What are they doing out of JAIL! What's happening at Fox News? TVNewser has an exclusive on the final fate of invisible Fox personality E.D. Hill today. Fox has decided not to renew E.D.'s contract, so she will be finally leaving the Fox News Channel after being off the air since June. Some may remember the left-media storm targeting E. D. Hill that occurred back on June 6 when she off handedly said that Barack and Michelle's on stage fist bump was a "terrorist fist jab." The Huffington Post and Media Matters raised a storm of protest and soon after, E.D. Hill lost her Fox show. AUTO CEOs FLY PRIVATE JETS TO D.C. _ Oops, you knew someone would be checking. The CEOs of the Big Three automakers reportedly flew private luxury jets to Washington to plead for a $25 billion taxpayer bailout to save their debt-ridden industry -- ringing up tens of thousands in charges even as they cried poverty.
CHANGE OF PLANS ON SHUTTLE _ Flight controllers were revamping plans Wednesday for the remaining spacewalks during space shuttle Endeavour's visit to the international space station, after a crucial tool bag floated away during repair work. Meanwhile, more than 200 miles above Earth, astronauts started hooking up the new space station equipment delivered by Endeavour, primarily a new recycling system that will convert urine, sweat and wash water into drinking water. It will take a while for the astronauts to install the recycling equipment; the first batch of urine should run through the system later this week.
ASHLEY DUPRE TALKS _ Does Eliot Spitzer's prostitute have a book or movie coming out or something? Because she's all over the media again. She's in the next issue of People, she sat down for a chat with the New York Post this week, and she'll talk tomorrow night (Friday) with Diane Sawyer.
... Dupre says what haunts her the most is the look on Spitzer's wife's face as he announced he was resigning as governor. If she could say anything to Silda Wall Spitzer, it would be, "I'm sorry for your pain." As for what happened with the governor inside Washington's Mayflower Hotel on February 13, that was "strictly business." Speaking in detail for the first time since the $4,300 tryst that sank Spitzer's once-promising political career, Dupre said she hadn't realized who "Client No. 9" was when she hooked up with him. In fact, it wasn't until her mother told her to flip on the TV to Spitzer announcing his resignation that she realized the man who had paid her for sex was the governor of New York, she tells the magazine.
... Despite Spitzer having a reputation as a difficult client, Dupre -- who was using the alias "Kristen" -- told People that Client 9, who was going by "George Fox," was "polite."
... Dupre says her career as a call girl started in 2004 when she realized, "This wasn’t any different than going on a date with someone you barely knew and hooking up with them. The only difference is I can pay my rent. I didn’t feel like it was a big deal."
SHOCK: AL-QUAIDA LEADER A RACIST _ Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader used a racial epithet to insult Barack Obama in a message posted to the Internet Wednesday, describing the president-elect in demeaning terms that imply he does the bidding of whites. The message to Muslims and Arabs implied that Obama does not represent a change in U.S. policies. Ayman al-Zawahri said in the message, which appeared on militant web sites, that Obama is "the direct opposite of honorable black Americans" like Malcolm X. al-Zawahri also called the president-elect -- along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice -- "house Negroes."

This is how I feel about Corpus Christi. This is my town. The Kel-Tec P3AT . Know any other handgun you can put in the pocket of sweatpants and forget its there? Public dollars for Planned Parenthood, which some folks took to mean buying contraceptives for kids. A half million dollar Community Youth Development grant for the 78415 zip code area caused some major controversy at Tuesday's council meeting. Sounded like both sides were talking about different things. It fits in nicely with what we will talk about today, Morality and greed. You ever read the Bible? I'm no expert, but for some reason Psalm 119 popped into my mind when Pamela and I were talking about Planned Parenthood, which I think is an Oxymoron. Psalm 119 is supposed to summerize all the other Psalms. Maybe my spirituality is not strong enough to make it clear to me. I'll keep trying... About the tape of chief Smith, that was supposed to have him saying terrible things about co workers and some city council members, watch my keyboard, it does not exist. Let me say that again. There is nothing on the tape. That's the word from inside the police department. They sent the damn thing to a company to enhance it. They found nothing. It's not there. So what in the heck is this investigation about? It's now about a tape the Chief made of a Captain and the president of the Union coming in his office and making vield threats that 4 members of the City Council want the Chief's neck on a plate. It's against the argghhh, Cha-Ta, for council members to engage in this sort of conduct. Conducting their own investigation into personal matters. This thing gets screwier as it goes along. More on that, Planned Parenthood, water releases, yea, water releases.
Guests: Seton Motley, Director of Communications for the Media Research Center. Remember the flap when Sarah Palin was supposed to have said that Africa was a country? Turns out she didn't say that, a media bozo included it in a story and it became fact. However, Barak Obama did say that there were 57 states. And he got a pass. Calling Africa a country and not a continent makes her stupid, not remembering how many states there are in the country you call home is OK. How long will this honeymoon last? Will they ever be able to criticize the first African American President? Not really. It's that trump card that's always ready to be played..... Mayor Henry Garrett in at 6:30. Planned Parenthood money and the water releases, and the city manager Skip Noe at 7. Planned Parenthood, water releases and his city manager gig plus did he really have Chief Smith's back. You are welcome at anytime by calling 560-55-89. Let's get to work...........
It’s not a done deal yet – apparently there are concerns about some of Billy’s more creative billing procedures connected to his globe trotting - but if Obama thinks her confirmation wouldn’t be too bruising an affair, there’s a good chance that Hillary Clinton will take the job of Secretary of State.
Barack Obama has been touting his concept - borrowed from Doris Kearns Goodwin’s “Team of Rivals” - of what he envisions as a plan for forming his cabinet.

This is National Ammo Week. Go out and buy a hundred rounds of your favorite caliber(s). Do it for the children! Council Meeting, discussion of the City Manager and still on the back burner; What happens to Police Chief Bryan Smith? 35 years ago Richard Nixon said he was not a crook, hypocrisy multiplied, illegals and the drug trade. I Guess Now People In California Know How Ants And Grasshoppers Feel When We Walk By Pushing A Lawnmower Let's get to work.....
Why is the Chief in trouble? Allegedly for things he said about some staff members and some council members. He was recorded when his cell phone was bumped and connected to one of his Captains. Captain overheard him, again allegedly, saying derogatory things about his staff and some council members. The Chief's staff are guys who were on former Chief Alvarezs' staff. Hmmmm. The meeting between Chief Smith and City Manager Angel Escobar scheduled for 5 Monday was cancelled. More investigating needs to be done.
New apartment complex planned for North Beach. Illegal immigration, and dope smuggling over our southern border are they the same thing? I think so. Violent drug gangs as far as Alaska. In Houston illegals freed to commit more crimes. The crackdown will not be on them, it will be on you, because of them...........
This story does not have a happy flute player, or little children learning about tolerance and diversity. James Ironshell has lived with his wife and daughters on the Meskwaki Nation's settlement in Iowa for more than a decade. Now he's fighting tribal authorities who want to ban him from his home because he's from another tribe. The dispute raises a legal question with implications that reach far beyond the settlement: Does the U.S. Constitution provide equal protection rights to American Indians as it does other citizens?
November 19 is National Ammo Day.
It is a nationwide BUYcott of ammunition. You buy ammunition. 100 Rounds a person. The goals of Ammo Day: The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens. Make your support of the Second Amendment known--by voting with your dollars!
There are an estimated 75 MILLION gun owners in the United States of America. If each gun owner or Second Amendment supporter buys 100 rounds of ammunition, that’s 7.5 BILLION rounds in the hands of law-abiding citizens!
The gun/ammunition manufacturers have been taking the brunt of all the frivolous lawsuits, trying to put these folks out of business. Well, not if we can help it! And we CAN help it by buying ammunition on November 19! THE AUTO INDUSTRY BAILOUT. Article from the WSJ. Why Bankruptcy Is the Best Option for GM. Obama wants to nationalize the auto industry? These guys can complain all they want to about the high cost of union benefits, unfair competition (which means: It's unfair the Japanese are smarter, more innovative, and more quality conscious than we are.), and “green” regulations that add cost to their products. The Big 3 are basically calling the American consumer stupid for actually wanting nice looking, trouble free, fully functional, safe, and adequately serviced autos. The gargantuan salaries paid to auto execs have not produced one single model that can outsell the Toyota Corolla. *****start poll*****

Included in An E-mail from Joe Gardner; A letter requesting the $700 Billion for a better use than bailing out various industries: November 17, 2008
Mr. Neel Kashkari Interim Assistant Secretary for Financial Stability U.S. Department of the Treasury 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20220
Dear Secretary Kashkari:
I write today to formally request $700 billion from the TARP Capital Purchase Program. Since unionized auto companies, state and local governments, and certain credit card companies are applying, I thought I should, as well. Attached you will find the two-page application which I downloaded from www.treas.gov.
I am fully aware that some $125 billion has already been allocated as of October 29, 2008. However, given that the federal government has the full weight of the army, the FBI, etc. behind it, I am confident that you can re-appropriate this money from the likes of Wells Fargo (or their successor companies, if the current over-regulatory and over-taxing economic climate has caused them to go under).
I have a plan for this $700 billion which should be just what’s needed to get the American economy going. Since the money came from the taxpayers in the first place, I propose giving it back to them. With $700 billion in TARP funding, ATR would facilitate the following tax cuts:
· Cut the corporate income tax rate from 35% to 15%, giving us one of the lowest corporate income tax rates in the developed world. We currently have the second-highest rate in the world (behind only Japan). This new 15% rate would give us the third-lowest rate in the world (ahead of only Ireland and Iceland). It would put us well below the Euro-zone average rate of 25%. Companies would be dying to set up shop in the United States. Estimated JCT cost: $170 billion[1]
· Eliminate the capital gains and dividends tax. These rates are currently 15%, but actually represent a double-tax on corporate profits. When combined with the new, lower 15% rate on corporate income, capital costs would be at their lowest levels in nearly a century. Tax something less, and get more of it. This would also be an improvement over a suggested change we have made to the Treasury for years—allow taxpayers to index the cost basis of their capital assets to inflation (something which Treasury has the unilateral authority to do and which would be the equivalent of a 50% cut in the capital gains tax rate). Estimated JCT cost: $35 billion[2]
· Cut the top personal income tax rate from 35% to a flat 15%. This would give the U.S. the lowest personal income tax rate in the developed world. Estimated JCT score: $235 billion[3]
· Kill the death tax. Almost nothing is more capital-killing for small businesses and family farms than the estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes. Estimated JCT score: $24 billion[4]
· Allow companies to fully-expense capital assets purchased the first year. Under current law, businesses and other taxpayers must usually “depreciate,” or slowly-deduct, capital asset purchases the first year. This capital-boosting proposal would allow taxpayers to deduct 100% of the purchase price from their taxes in year one. Estimated JCT score: $240 billion [5]
Put all that together, and you arrive at almost exactly $700 billion. It’s safe to say that allocating $700 billion this year toward these tax reduction goals would do much for economic growth. But there’s more that can be done that doesn’t require any more resources:
· Ensure that there is full transparency in the TARP program by putting every TARP transaction and contract online for everyone to see. Disclose potential conflicts of interest with TARP-oversight staff.
· Allow companies to repatriate foreign profits to the U.S. without having to pay a double tax. The last time Congress allowed this in 2005, over $300 billion was repatriated, boosting GDP 2%.
I look forward to receiving the money. Please consult my staff for any ACH transfer information your people may need.
Sincerely,
Grover Norquist

Will the Police Chief make it this time? Crime down 8% according to the C/T article Friday and then fire him on Saturday? (I'm hearing that he was asked to resign) Was the Saturday Caller Times Editorial just a bit slanted toward the new City Manager? Did they jerk the entire council's chain or just the Mayor's? Is there a cougar in Calallen? Was JFK a huge flop as president? Is calling people "bigots" and "hateful" going to change any minds? Let's get to work.....
From the above mentioned Editorial: "The conduct of the council members who misled Escobar can only be called shabby and manipulative. The background to his hiring is only important if it becomes a precursor to how the council deals with its new city manager as it goes forward."

Poll: Will The Police Chief Make It This Time? *****end poll***** I've heard quite a few people refer to this council as the "purge" council. I have no idea what that means, and when I ask, I'm usually told getting rid of Skip Noe and everyone who supported him. Then I ask who else besides Skip was let go. I don't get an answer unless you count "Ron Massey read the writing on the wall". I keep thinking back to the problems in the "one stop shop", people not getting straight answers, permits difficult to obtain, changes seemingly on the whim of whomever they are talking to at the time and I wonder why that problem couldn't be taken care of before they load the cannons and start blasting. Purging suggests political payback to me, and fixing problems suggests leadership. I won't bother to finish that thought for you. Firing the Police Chief, and that's what I've heard since Friday, when the crime rate in the city is down 8% is very strange. That sounds like either a political move or someone,(the acting chief) has powerful friends who want him to be the new Police Chief. (Would that be the Mayor? New City Manager? The 4 council members who voted with the Mayor?) Cronyism v politics both bad news. How do you get in a mess like this? Maybe council will talk about setting standards and ethics Tuesday as well. I have nothing but questions, puzzling questions. I Don't Carry A Gun...... … to kill people. I carry a gun to keep from being killed. I don’t carry a gun to scare people. I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place. I don’t carry a gun because I’m paranoid. I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world. Read the rest.
Freezing Heat. Yes, Glowbal Worming. Lesbians attack a church. Yea, this will help change peoples minds. In most ways, JFK was a huge flop as president. In less than three years in office: - He bungled the Bay of Pigs invasion.
- His weakness inspired Nikita Khrushchev to build the Berlin Wall and station missiles in Cuba.
- He snuck hookers into the White House, enlisting public servants to keep his wife in the dark, as he behaved like a Vegas conventioneer.
- He had an affair with a girlfriend of mobster Sam Giancana.
- But he took a great picture and he was dashing.

What a brisk, clear morning. Went out in the back yard when dawn was about to break it was 48. Coffee tasted so good. Used a Coffee Press. AHhhhhhh. Then the Paper came. City Manager Angel Escobar on Saturday placed Corpus Christi Police Chief Bryan Smith on administrative leave. Assistant Police Chief Mike Walsh is acting chief until further notice, Escobar said early Sunday. From the Caller.com comments; 1. Thanks Caller Times for communicating to CCPD officers who's in charge! The troops heard it first from you. No communication at CCPD on this issue.
2.Many officers knew about this 12 hours ago...CT was not on top of things on this one.
